What is period delay treatment?

Period delay tablets are usually a medicine called norethisterone, a synthetic form of progesterone. It works by maintaining hormone levels to delay your period from starting.

Once you stop taking the tablets, your period will usually begin within a few days.

This treatment is not a contraceptive and does not protect against pregnancy.

When should I start Treatment?

For best results, period delay tablets are usually started:

• 3 days before your expected period

Starting too late may mean the treatment is less effective.
